ROS By-The-Bay

  • We gave a talk at Google Building RLS2 as part of the Bay Area's ROS meetup.
  • We highlighted our NeoRacer M1, NeoRacer V2, its ROS stack, and simulation support to over 100 attendees.
  • We raced the NeoRacer M1 autonomously and NeoRacer V2 manually in the parking lot with attendees getting hands on time.

  • We returned to Open Sauce with a large booth showing off multiple NeoRacer M1 cars autonomously racing in a loop track.
  • We ran man vs machine races where visitors could test their RC control against our autonomous algorithms.
  • We met many amazing people and even got interviewed by LinusTechTips for his Open Sauce video!

IEEE VTC2026-Fall

  • The 30th RoboRacer Autonomous Racing Competition brought 11 international university teams to Boston, including Boston University, UW Madison, University of Florida, and George Mason University.
  • George Mason's two-person PhD team Fireball came first with an MPPI controller that let the car drift through corners instead of fighting it.
  • For the first time in the series, a high school team competed: Black Box Racing (ages 16 and 17) finished second in both formats racing the NeoRacer M1.
  • The most affordable car ever to race a RoboRacer event also competed: an independently built, 3D printed NeoRacer V2 for about $700, with plans to feed the design back into the open-source repository.

  • We were invited to demo and pitch Neobotics as part of Imagination in Action at Google's Mountain View office in Silicon Valley.
  • We joined a panel called 'Autonomy Where It's Hard', discussing the challenges of the sim-to-real gap and its presence in autonomous robotics.
  • We met amazing founders, industry experts, and hobbyists, and loved interacting with the robotics and AI community.
